Elderly citizens reach for energy-saving light bulbs being handed out by members of Greenpeace outside the central Athens offices of the Public Power Corporation (PPC) yesterday. The group has called on PPC to give two such bulbs to every household to promote energy-saving practices. Its initiative is also ‘an important step to avert expected blackouts,’ Greenpeace said.
