The shadows of demonstrators fall onto a placard during a rally protesting rising prices in central Athens yesterday. The placard in the foreground shows loaves of bread, reportedly one of the few products that cash-strapped consumers have not been cutting back on. There were no reports of violence during the rally, which was jointly organized by labor unions and consumer protection groups.
