Protest Russian strikes…
A young Georgian immigrant joined fellow countrymen and supporters outside the Russian Embassy in Athens to protest Russian strikes in Georgia after attacks on seperatists in the region of South Ossetia that entered their fourth day yesterday. A similar rally took place in Thessaloniki as government officials stressed that there were no reports of any harm coming to ethnic Greeks living in the province. Meanwhile, foreign ministers from the world’s leading industrial nations – the so-called Group of Seven – urged Moscow to agree to an immediate ceasefire with Georgia and respect its territorial integrity.
