Members of Greece’s women’s water polo team look on in despair as they watch their teammates lose 9-6 to the Netherlands in Beijing yesterday. The defeat was Greece’s second loss in as many games and means the national team, which won the silver in Athens four years ago, will not be able to advance to the quarter-finals of the Olympics. Greece lost its first game against Australia 9-6. The men’s team has not fared any better, losing both of its first two games to Australia and Hungary, and must now beat Montenegro in its next game to have a chance of advancing in the tournament.
