Nikolaidis lost the tight match 5-4 to claim the silver medal for the second Olympics running. He also lost the final in Athens four years ago to a South Korean opponent. The 28-year-old from Thessaloniki was the last Greek to win a medal in China, taking the country’s final tally at the Games to four: two silver and two bronze. Greece had won 16 medals at the Athens Olympics.
