OA employees make their point at Athens Airport

Employees of Olympic Airlines staged a sit-down protest on the runway at Athens International Airport yesterday, protesting the government’s plans to privatize the debt-stricken state carrier. The action disrupted flights for about 10 minutes, forcing planes to circle above the airport. Disgruntled workers have rebuffed government pledges to redeploy them to civil service posts or offer them compensation.
