Euro elections in June…
There was little action in Parliament yesterday as workers moved in to refurbish. But there was plenty of activity behind the scenes as ministers seek to cover ground ahead of Euro elections in June and the possibility of early general elections. According to sources, the Economy Ministry plans to keep a tight lid on state coffers and may even curb spending in order to offer tax breaks to the self-employed. Interior Minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos is today expected to present plans for merging departments and streamlining procedures in his ministry, while Education Minister Aris Spiliotopoulos is preparing for talks with students.
