Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis and her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov address a joint press conference following talks in Moscow yesterday. Lavrov appeared to welcome Greece’s proposal to renew the mandate in Georgia of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), whose rotating presidency Greece currently holds. ‘The proposals of the (Greek) presidency are realistic both de facto and de jure and we are ready to help promote them,’ Lavrov told reporters. Foreign Ministry sources in Athens said Bakoyannis aims to tour the Caucasus in the coming months.
