Peace marathon runners arrive in Syntagma

Runners endure the last strides of a 10-kilometer ‘peace marathon’ that culminated in central Athens yesterday. Hundreds joined in the marathon, in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in protest at Israel’s offensive in the Middle East, which began at Dafni, southern Athens, and ended in Syntagma Square. Earlier, schoolchildren from Dafni attended a torch-lighting ceremony at the archaeological site of Eleusis.
