Recycling of household trash…
Plastic water bottles adorn trees in a square opposite the town hall of the Peloponnesian port of Nafplion yesterday following an initiative by local residents who are protesting the local authority’s failure to promote the recycling of household trash. Protesting residents also hung up other recyclable materials, including newspapers, to draw attention to the municipality’s ‘indifference’ to recycling. Locals have also been protesting the lack of action being taken to clear up the port’s beaches, many of which are said to be strewn with trash.
