A boy dives into the water in the industrial zone of Drapetsona near the port of Piraeus on World Environment Day yesterday. Merchant Marine Minister Giorgos Anomeritis noted his ministry’s duty in caring for ‘16,000 kilometers of coastline and 3,000 islands.’ The goverment last month announced a list of 354 beaches and seven marinas that were awarded the EU’s blue flag for cleanliness.
