The Cyprus problem and Turkey’s actions…

Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stride through the White House together yesterday ahead of their first meeting since Barack Obama was elected president. The two officials agreed to boost ‘strategic cooperation’ between their countries. They also discussed Greece’s role as the current president of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as well as burning issues for Greece including the Cyprus problem and Turkey’s actions in the Aegean. Bakoyannis raised the issue of Turkish violations in the Aegean and Clinton reportedly said she would discuss it with Turkish officials.
