Tourists forced to admire Acropolis from afar
A tourist takes a picture of the Acropolis from a sightseeing bus yesterday. That was as close as many visitors got to the ancient monument because of a strike by Culture Ministry workers. Protesters are also due to block access to the Acropolis today and tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are demanding permanent contracts, the payment of outstanding wages and the reinstatement of sacked colleagues.
