Teachers raise cash to build school in Gaza
A group of 28 teachers’ unions from across the country has gathered donations for the construction of a school in the conflict-torn Gaza Strip and is planning a trip to the blockaded area next week to submit its proposal to authorities, Skai has learned. A delegation of teachers will travel to the Gaza Strip on June 11, Giorgos Galanis, a spokesperson for the group told Skai over the weekend. The teachers plan to offer authorities an unspecified sum that they have raised for the creation of a school in the district of Bayt Hanun, which has suffered serious damage and casualties in Israeli strikes. A special bank account has been opened at ATEbank for citizens who wish to make a donation. Further details can be found on the teachers’ blog at www.enasxoleiogiatigaza.blogspot.com.
