Traffic cones and ‘no entry’ signs…

Traffic cones and ‘no entry’ signs were put up yesterday to block motorists’ access to a section of Anagnostopoulou Street in Kolonaki, central Athens, where PM Costas Simitis’s private residence is. This followed Saturday’s exchange of shots outside the building between a drug addict and Simitis’s bodyguards. Residents of the banned stretch, from Irakleitou to Patriarchou Ioakeim Street, may drive through it but not park. The traffic police said the ban would apply until June 30.
