An anti-landfill activist in a silent protest

A resident of Grammatiko in northeastern Attica, where the government is planning to build a landfill, protests yesterday outside the entrance to Athens’s main court complex. The mayor of Grammatiko and six residents responded to criminal and misdemeanor charges after their alleged participation in a riot at the site slated for the landfill’s construction last week. The woman’s sign reads ‘Why do you rush justice? Is it because it is blind?’
