Hundreds of peach farmers lined up their tractors along the old national highway in the northern prefecture of Imathia yesterday, forcing motorists to take lengthy detours for several hours. The farmers are demanding immediate state assistance to absorb their surplus production this year, citing a slump in their sales to canning companies.
