Athens empties as city-dwellers hit the beaches
Lycabettus Hill sits over a spookily empty Amalias Street in central Athens yesterday, as temperatures climbed to 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) and thousands of city-dwellers took to the nearby beaches to cool off.
