Pimp held for offering spouse to policeman
A 47-year-old man alleged to have been pimping his wife to locals in the northeastern city of Alexandroupolis was in custody yesterday after reportedly trying to offer the 49-year-old woman’s sexual services to an undercover police officer. After receiving an anonymous tip-off about the suspect’s alleged activities as a procurer, a local police officer presented himself to the 47-year-old in the role of a prospective customer. The suspect is then alleged to have offered the undercover officer an erotic rendezvous with a sex worker in exchange for 20 euros. The worker in question turned out to be the suspect’s wife, police said. Officers, who detained the couple, were seeking to determine whether the woman had been forced into her alleged role as sex worker by her husband or whether the pair had been running an illicit enterprise together.
