Fleeing robber shoots two pedestrians in legs

Two pedestrians were in hospital yesterday after being shot in the legs by a robber fleeing from a bank he had just raided in the center of Thessaloniki. Police in the northern city were seeking the perpetrator of the robbery of a branch of National Bank, who knocked down a young woman and her 3-year-old son while fleeing on a motorcycle, causing minor injuries to both. Two pedestrians who subsequently tried to stop the fugitive were shot in the legs. The men, aged 35 and 41, were transferred to hospital where they were said to be in a stable condition late yesterday. Meanwhile in Attica police were seeking the perpetrators of two bloodless bank raids in the coastal suburb of Palaio Faliro and the central district of Kypseli. It is unclear how much was netted in any of the three robberies.
