Two multicolored elephant statues, each over 2.5 meters high, sit in a square in front of Thessaloniki’s White Tower. The elephants have become quite a tourist attraction, though set up to draw attention to the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), an annual bellwether for businessmen and politicians expected to attract more attention this year due to the announcement this week of snap polls.
