2010 World Cup qualifier…

Greece national soccer team players Avraam Papadopoulos (r) and Vassilis Torosidis (l) jump in the air during training at the Olympic Stadium in Athens last night. Greece is preparing to face Latvia in a crucial 2010 World Cup qualifier on Saturday. Greece must win the game to keep alive its hopes of traveling to South Africa for the tournament next year. National team coach Otto Rehhagel faces a number of selection headaches ahead of the game as several players, including Papadopoulos, have been suspended while some others are injured. Greece is aiming for second place in its group, which would lead to a two-leg playoff against another second-placed team.
