‘There are no winners and losers’…

Antonis Samaras addresses New Democracy’s parliamentary group yesterday as party leader for the first time since his election last month. Samaras reiterated his message of unity following a sometimes divisive leadership campaign, saying, ‘There are no winners and losers.’ He asked the conservative deputies to toe the party line both in and out of Parliament, before launching an attack on the performance of the PASOK government so far. However, he said that ND’s opposition to government policy was not necessarily a given, suggesting that the conservatives would back some policies.
