Reform from within the syllabus

Professor Maronitis described the nature of the experiment as follows: «If, despite repeated reforms that are often unnecessary and definitely not beneficial, considering the way they are carried out, we appear to be adding yet another, then I would like to emphasize that our reform is not external but internal. We are attempting to reform the existing school syllabus from within, using the school’s own potential. «The second and most important element is that this is not a compulsory but an optional reform. Its purpose is to elicit its principles and programs. These are tangential, logical and sober changes to the essence of imparting ancient knowledge and language, changes which our program believes are absolutely essential. Nothing is prepared or decided in advance on these points. It begins from certain basic principles, re-examined en route. The program is designed to be incremental and subject to review.»
