Holocaust Remembrance Day…

A Greek survivor of the Holocaust in the Second World War lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament in Syntagma Square, central Athens, yesterday to honor his countrymen and fellow Jews that were killed at Nazi concentration camps. More than 85 percent of Greece’s Jews, or some 65,000 people, lost their lives in concentration camps during the war. Yesterday was the 65th International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which coincides with the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp by Allied forces.
