One of the floats…

One of the floats that will be paraded through Patra for Greece’s biggest carnival is seen in a local warehouse yesterday. Patra has two parades, one will take place tonight, starting at 6 p.m., and the other tomorrow afternoon, starting at 2 p.m. Some 30,000 people are expected to take part. There will be 108 floats, many of which will be carrying caricatures of politicians and television personalities, as well as more traditional figures. All the figures are prepared at a special workshop run by the Municipality of Patra. There will also be a 15-minute firework show on Sunday night.
