Panathenaic Stadium…
A tourist poses yesterday outside the Panathenaic Stadium in central Athens, which opened again to the public several years after its closure. The ancient stadium was renovated for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and was used for the archery contest and marathon’s finish at the Athens Olympics in 2004. Entrance to the stadium will cost 3 euros, which includes the use of a handheld audio guide that will give visitors a 15-minute tour of the site in one of nine languages. Students can enter for 1.50 euros while schoolchildren will have free access.
