Ambitious billboard-scrapping plan under way
Workers tear down an illegally erected billboard on Pireos Street yesterday, the launch of a crackdown aimed at clearing major Athens roadsides of the offending signs. The cleanup is being coordinated by the Unification of the Archaeological Sites of Athens (EAXA), a state organization that has been largely inactive since its foundation in 1997.
