Fall may hold key to ‘murder’
A 22-year-old British man being held in custody on Crete on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend did not kill her, friends of the young woman have told UK media, suggesting instead that she suffered her injury on a night out. A close friend of 20-year-old Chelsea Hyndman told the Sunday Mercury newspaper that Hyndman «took a blow to the stomach when she fell on a cobbled floor» while out drinking with friends a few days before she died. A second autopsy, carried out in the UK, had suggested she suffered a ruptured pancreas. The results of a third autopsy are not yet known. Tests in Greece prompted the police to charge Hyndman’s boyfriend, Luke Walker, with murder, suspecting he attacked her in a fit of jealousy.
