Greece’s Vassilis Torosidis scores the decisive goal in the national team’s 2-1 win over Nigeria at the World Cup in South Africa. Greece’s victory in Bloemfontein was its first in the tournament. The national side lost all three of its games at the World Cup in the USA in 1994 and was beaten 2-0 by South Korea last Saturday. The win means that coach Otto Rehhagel’s men could still qualify for the last 16 of the tournament but will need to get a result in their last group game against Argentina next Tuesday.
