Woman tied to buried corpse

Police in Attica yesterday were questioning a 36-year-old Albanian woman about the murder of a Greek businessman whose body was found last week concealed beneath the tiled floor of a bathroom in Diakofto, in the Peloponnese. Acting on an anonymous tip-off, police arrested the 36-year-old on Friday night at a house in the coastal suburb of Loutsa where she had been working as a carer for an elderly resident. Police had been seeking the woman since the discovery last week of the body of Tasos Tsagaropoulos, as she used to rent the house in Diakofto where his remains were found. Tsagaropoulos had been missing for nearly a year when police found his body buried under the floor of the bathroom in Diakofto. The suspect has reportedly denied any knowledge of the killing. According to police, the woman has been detained in the past on charges of stealing from elderly residents for whom she worked as an live-in carer.
