Tsatoumas leaps to sixth place in Barcelona
Long-jumper Louis Tsatoumas finished sixth in his event at the European Track and Field Championships in Barcelona yesterday, with a best jump of 8.09 meters, one of the most impressive performances by a Greek athlete in the competition that concluded last night. Also yesterday, Tonia Stergiou came eighth in the women’s high jump with a season’s best of 1.92 m. On Saturday, Periklis Iakovakis finished fifth in the final of the 400 m hurdles.
