Calls for permanency, despite hiring freeze
Civil servants on expired short-term contracts protest outside the Supreme Court in Athens yesterday. Hundreds of workers joined the rally, demanding permanent contracts despite a hiring freeze announced by the government earlier this year. The workers have lodged a legal suit against the state, to be heard by the Supreme Court on January 20.
