Man, 53, killed while trying to pass aircraft under bridge A 53-year-old man was killed on Saturday when the glider he had been operating plunged into the Polyfytos Lake near Kozani. According to police, the 53-year-old mismanaged a maneuver under a bridge crossing the lake and fell into the water. It is unclear whether he was killed by the impact or whether he drowned. Angry neighbor Man shoots three over noise A 30-year-old man opened fire on three of his neighbors on Saturday, injuring two of them, following a dispute over noisy construction work being carried out on the victims’ balcony, police in Thessaloniki said. Babies hurt Two infants suffered serious head injuries yesterday after the car in which they had been traveling was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle on the national road near the northern city of Xanthi. Traffic police investigating the causes of the crash said the car had not been fitted with special seats for infants. It was unclear whether the motorists involved would be charged with negligence. Plane crash Three people were injured when a single-engined plane crashed near the ski center at Kalavryta, near Patra, yesterday. The pilot, co-pilot and one passenger were transfered by helicopter to a hospital in Patra where they were being treated late yesterday. It was unclear how serious their injuries were. Sea search Coast guard officials yesterday continued with their search for an 80-year-old sports reporter who has been missing since Friday after leaving the Aegean island of Serifos on his speedboat, on a trip destined for the Alimos marina, south of Athens. The Coast Guard said that the 7-meter vessel, Toxotis, had been found off the island of Milos with two cracks in its sides. One of the cracks had a towel stuffed into it, suggesting that the 80-year-old had attempted to stop the vessel from sinking. According to sources, the reporter of daily Ta Nea, always took his speedboat from Serifos to Alimos at this time of year. Arson attack Unidentified arsonists caused damage to four parked vehicles after letting off a hand grenade in the entrance of an apartment block in the neighborhood of Pangrati near central Athens, shortly before 5 a.m. yesterday.
