Reds, PAOK stay at top of table
Olympiakos and Panathinaikos dismissed their Thessaloniki opposition at home over the weekend to stay joint top of the soccer table, with the Piraeus side having a game in hand. Kevin Mirallas’s brace led Olympiakos to a 3-0 victory yesterday over PAOK, which had Vladan Ivic sent off. The Reds’ third goal came from substitute Dennis Rommedahl. On Saturday, Iraklis took a 2-0 lead at the 21st minute at the Olympic Stadium through Bogdan Mara and Pitu Garcia, but Panathinaikos turned it around thanks to two goals by Super League top scorer Djibril Cisse. Kavala leapt to third through a 2-1 home win over AEK, while Aris moved up to fifth, beating Kerkyra 2-0 at home. Panionios beat Larissa 1-0 away, Atromitos and Ergotelis ended 1-1, as did Olympiakos Volou against Asteras Tripolis, while Xanthi downed Panserraikos 2-0.
