Commercial relations between Greece and Canada

In 2009, Canadian merchandise exports to Greece totaled approximately 71 million euros (112 million Canadian dollars). Top Canadian merchandise exports to Greece included vegetables, paper and paperboard, and machinery. Canadian merchandise imports from Greece in 2009 totaled 89 million euros ($141 million Canadian dollars) and top imports included preserved food products, fats and oils (mainly olive oil), and aluminum. Trade in services is an important component of the Canada-Greece commercial relationship. In 2007, service exports were approximately 310 million euros ($455 million Canadian dollars), 95 percent of which were related to the transportation and government services category. Canada’s Greek community was estimated at 243,000 people in 2006. Some 20,000-25,000 Greek Canadians are estimated to live in Greece, with over 100,000 Canadians visiting Greece annually.
