Judge’s blog sparks probe
The Supreme Court prosecutor’s office has ordered an investigation into a judicial official following allegations that she is running a blog featuring extreme anti-Semitic content as well as insulting comments about Greece’s judicial system. «I wish Hitler had wiped out [the Jews],» writes blogger Marianna On Ice, whom press reports earlier this week identified as a female judge at the Athens Appeals Court. Judaism is described as an «intolerant and anti-humanist» religion. Another post slams Greece’s judicial system as a «power lever [controlled by] the wicked and the corrupt,» while comparing the capital’s Evelpidon court complex to a brothel. The blog, titled «Hope Wanted,» also hosts entries on freemasonry, money laundering and judicial corruption. Sources said that despite the Supreme Court’s probe, someone offended by the blogger’s remarks will have to file an official complaint before the police electronic crimes squad can try to uncover her identity.
