Landfill protesters take their battle to the airport

Residents of Keratea, southeast of Athens, hold a banner in front of Athens International Airport yesterday to protest plans to build a new landfill in their area. The residents have formed blockades to prevent the work from starting and a justice of the peace has ruled that the project should be placed on hold until claims that the site has not been appropriated have been investigated. Three locals claims they have deeds showing that they own the land.
