Truck owners gathered in front of the Transport Ministry yesterday in an effort to put pressure on the government to delay the implementation of a law passed last year that liberalizes their profession. The truckers, some of whom parked their vehicles across the ministry’s entrance, are asking the government to delay by one year the legislation, which removes the limits to the number of trucking licenses that can be issued. Last summer, the lorry owners created havoc across Greece by blocking national roads and oil refineries and causing fuel shortages.
