Citizens’ Protection Ministry…
A baby girl yawns while being held by her father, an Afghan refugee, in front of the Citizens’ Protection Ministry yesterday. A small group of Afghans, some of whom had sewn their mouths shut two weeks ago in protest at the inefficiency of the asylum process in Greece, protested in front of the ministry yesterday. A law was passed last week handing responsibility for dealing with asylum applications to a soon-to-be created independent body, rather than the police, who are currently in charge of dealing with the process.
