Athenians are seen waiting in…

Athenians are seen waiting in a queue yesterday outside one of the few pharmacies operating in the capital as pharmacists continued with strike action. The pharmacists, who object to the government’s plans to open up their sector to competition, are to meet tomorrow to decide on further strike action which is expected to include another three-day strike next week from Wednesday through Friday. The controversial reforms would allow any qualified pharmacist to obtain a license to operate a pharmacy, removing the advantage that children of existing pharmacists have of taking over their parents’ businesses.
