The icon of the Virgin of Jerusalem…
The icon of the Virgin of Jerusalem and a piece of wood said to be of the True Cross, arrived in Thessaloniki from Jerusalem yesterday to commemorate the 1,950th anniversary of St Paul’s visit to the city and the 90th anniversary of its liberation from the Ottoman Empire. The icon is said to have been painted by the Evangelist Luke.
