Workers remove rows of plastic seats yesterday from the Athens Olympic Stadium at Kalogreza, which is being radically refurbished ahead of the 2004 Olympics. The stadium was visited yesterday by a team of UEFA officials who are inspecting proposed venues in Greece and Turkey in view of the two countries’ joint bid to host the 2008 European soccer championship. Today, the UEFA inspectors are due in Thessaloniki.
