Failed compromise

While lawmakers in Parliament are still divided over the voting rights of citizens living abroad, only 120 diaspora Greeks have so far registered to vote with the existing system from their place of residence.

This confirms the failure of the previous compromise between the parties: The formula agreed last year does not facilitate participation in the elections; on the contrary, it discourages it.

It also exposes those who insist on maintaining anti-democratic restrictions.
