Consensus after the fires

The Greek prime minister and the leader of the opposition both appeared to agree yesterday that the restoration of the burnt areas must not be the subject of partisan confrontation.

This is a national wager. The two leaders must both stick to this consensual approach. No side can hope to score political points from scratching fresh wounds.

When it comes to the existential threat of climate change, there is no room for political speculation.
