Expanding the capital’s metro system will not only improve the everyday life of its citizens; it will also create new economic opportunities for local communities.
Local protests which in the past prevented the construction of metro stations in certain neighborhoods proved to be shortsighted.
It is outrageous that, 20 years on, we are still witnessing resistance to the transport network’s expansion. This time, the public interest must come before all other concerns.
