Sustainable growth

The performance of the Greek economy in the third quarter of the year was impressive. It marked Greece’s rapid return to pre-pandemic levels.

But it was again based on the “monoculture” of tourism and it would not have been achieved without the 40 billion euros of state aid paid out to support businesses in the pandemic. 

Now, Greece is called upon to show that it can achieve sustainable growth even after being discharged from the “intensive care unit.”
