PEURIFOY: According to a reliable source, Mr John Peurifoy is to remain at his post as US Ambassador to Greece for a second term. In reply to questions by the press, the prime minister, Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos stated that the news was particularly welcome and would no doubt be received with great satisfaction by the Greek nation, as Peurifoy has repeatedly shown that he is a great friend of the Greek people. NATIONAL BANK – BANK OF ATHENS: The ruling on the merger of the National Bank of Greece and the Bank of Athens in order to set up a new banking company was published in the Government Gazette of February 27, No. 39, Volume I. CONVICTION OF SPIES: Thessaloniki, 27 – Today marked the end of the trial that began yesterday of the spy for the Bulgarian General Staff and his accomplices. the military court sentenced Giorgios Graikos to death on three counts, and Leonidas Haralambidis to death on two counts. It also sentenced Parthena Haralambidou and Simon Kondostathis to death. BUS RIDES FOR HUNTING DOGS: The Popular Hunting Association has announced to hunters that by order of the Transport Ministry, hunting dogs wearing muzzles will be allowed on intercity buses for a fee of a half-price ticket. Each bus can accept a maximum of three hunting dogs.
