The Polytechnic initiative

The celebration of the anniversary of the Polytechnic student uprising has turned into an annual clash between police and hooligans. 

The initiative of the National Technical University of Athens’ administration to request a change in the way the event is celebrated within the institution must be seriously discussed in a timely manner, and not in the busy days preceding the actual anniversary on November 17. 

It is a discussion that should primarily aim to protect the anniversary itself from the groups that attempt to usurp the occasion.
