‘Saddened by images of shallowness toward USA’

Pantelis Boulakas states, «Now even American and British newspapers are being filled with the voices of warning that liberators such as these have always been dealt with, everywhere, as occupying forces…» (April 8, 2003). Really? In which newspapers? I have not read statements to that effect. I do feel, though, disgust at the sentiments expressed by the commentaries of this newspaper. I am saddened by the images showing Greece’s shallowness toward the USA. Perhaps they will feel differently when tourism is down and the American Dollar is not flowing «freely» during the holidays. I, for one, have canceled my vacation plans for this year, and the next few years. JEANNIE KONTIS, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
